"Trylon and Perisphere"

"A Typical Day Crowd"

"A Bird's Eye View of the Fair"

The time is Autumn, 1939. Gustave filmed the "bird's eye view" from the Trylon and Perisphere, which was a feat because photography was not permitted up there. Gustave, usually a law-abiding citizen, somehow convinced security that he was a cameraman on official business!

Note the rarely-photographed underbelly of the Perisphere with it's mirrored supports and pool base. The fountains that sprayed the underside have been shut down for the season. From a distance the Perisphere resembled a polished ball, but up close its surface looked a bit lumpy.
