Our circle has it's own custom-made incense collection!

We had the incenses mixed by Joe "Klingon" at the Enchantments store in Manhattan. We designed and printed the labels ourselves.

The symbols are intriguing. They come from an illustration in Rudolf Koch's book "The Book of Signs," Dover Press, 1955:

According to Mr. Koch, these are "eight subsidiary signs, taken from a French calendar. It probably represents the eight corners of the heavens, the whole forming a rhumb-card."

The front cover of Gwydion's songbook, published by Nemeton press, assigns sabbat names to these symbols.

Clockwise from Top: Litha, Lammas, Mabon, Samhain, Yule, Imbolg, Ostara, Beltane.

The symbols for Mabon (a memorial cross), Beltane (a maypole), Imbolg (a hammer) and Ostara (a floral design) look appropriate. The rest look kinda arbitrary to me. I welcome anyone's input on their derivation.
