Are You NEW to WICCA?
To those of you who are new to Wicca- Thank you for your interest in our group. We get a lot of emails from very young witches, and those who want someone to teach them Wicca. While there is nothing wrong with beginners like yourself connecting with more experienced Wiccans, you should understand that the religion is more or less self-taught. To begin, one must have the desire to learn, which we think most of you have. It is best for a person starting out in Wicca to understand the basics, history and background, and philosphy of Wicca before joining any group. To be a Solitary is good experience and practice and most of us have practiced solitary Wicca before forming or joining a group. Therefore, we have a list of books, organizations, and open pagan rituals that a new witch can read, use, and attend in order not to feel isolated and meet those of a like mind. 1. Recommended Reading When God Was A Woman by Merlin Stone (history and
background); Llewellyn Books at www.llewellyn.com sells all of these titles and many more. 2. Rituals Open to the Public New Moon NY hosts open rituals for the Sabbats. Their website is www.newmoonny.org. 3. Books and Supplies Enchantments, a store at 341 E. 9th St. between 1st and 2nd Avenues in Manhattan, has everything a witch needs and they also host open rituals. Their website is: www.enchantmentsincnyc.com. Blessed Be )O( Back to Wytches' Hill Coven |
